So do we sit water for elk?

The title says it all. Tonight after watching the heavey horned 3×4 I heard a cow call below me about 400 yds around the bend. I grabbed my camera and took off thinking “maybe they will water with shooting light left.” Sure enough they did and although dark footage I watched 16 elk including a 5×5 bull enjoy the perks of 7 inches of rain as they danced into the quencher. It was a welcome sight as so often our critters here are nocturnal when they hit water. Pleased, I turned around and raced up the hill or tried that is atleast to burn out my lungs, on my way up the incline my body asked very legitimate questions. I don’t think it has ever been this hard to get in shape. A deer snorted and I scanned quickly put my camera down and glassed deep front troting over the hill. That’s my first look at him and he did look impressive! He is (as Rob has been saying) not likely to make it another year. Where is Earl?
