Hunter’s Journal

Last year the stud on the right narrowly escaped the arrow of our friend Gary from Wichita….does Gary ever have stories to tell about last year!  But this year we grabbed a muzzleloader and when this beautiful 6-point stepped out, Gary wasted no time smoking him at 70 yards.  Wes and Gary found this bull just moved into cows yesterday morning, left him and when they came back yesterday afternoon, he was in a pretty tough spot.  After an amazing stalk through one of the rockiest, steepest canyons you’ll see, Gary settled in and closed the deal.  Congratulations, Gary, on a new story for the books!  You can expect to see this awesome kill footage on our new DVD, coming early 2008. 

 Once again this week we have the privilege of hunting with some of the world’s fine folks - Gary and his wife Karen, Jonathan, and Rob and his family.  The weather has turned very cool, highs under 60 today, and we’re hearing lots of bugles the past two days!  I know the guys are into elk and I’m wondering if they have a bull down as I haven’t heard from them.  Check back in tomorrow, maybe they have good news.
